I have to admit that since I haven't been good at updating my blog these last few months, it has felt overwhelming on where to start... I figure Easter is a great place to start. This morning the Easter Bunny came to our house and dropped by some eggs! We also got lots of goodies from grammy's and great grammy's (thanks for all the cookies!). Ethan's favorite was a train he got from grammy this year.
The Easter bunny left candy in all sorts of funny places! (like on the windowsill)
Loving his trains!
We also had an easter egg hunt at the church this morning!
This is Ethan and his friend Neil. Neil is in our ward. Ethan and Neil both love trains, Buzz & Woody, and all sorts of other fun things, they get along great! Neils mom and I have become friends and Ethan & I enjoy spending time with them!
Start of the hunt, Ethan was so excited about all the kids running around, he seemed to just run in circles. It was a bit overwhelming for him. But he had a smile on his face the entire time.
As for our family update:
Jordon is enjoying his new job. He's been busy training and comes home tired each day. So far we really like the company he works for, it's always a nice feeling when he works with people who have been there for 30+ years and their kids also work there as well. Helps us feel that this will be a stable job and we are in it for the long haul. We are just so grateful to have a job! Jordon has struggled with sleep problems for years and we've finally gotten him into a sleep study. He does have apnea, we are just trying to figure out what type... yes, did you know there are different types of apnea? (obstructive, complex, etc). Lots to learn and we are still trying to figure it all out. We all hope he can get a good nights rest soon!
As for myself (mom), I am trying to get over a sinus/ear infection that I've been plagued with for the last month. I lost part of my hearing about 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't come back yet. After antibiotics, steroid injections, and tubes placed in the ear to help drain and keep ears open, I am somewhat on the mend. It has been quite an experience being hearing impaired! We keep praying and hoping it's not permanent. I have finally scheduled myself for sinus surgery later this month to fix the anatomical problems that have been causing me sinus troubles since I was 12. I'm not looking forward to the pain and first week of recovery, but I am hopeful that it will help my problems in the long run. Then I will be seeing an allergist to determine if I'm a good candidate for allergy shots. It's been loads of fun around here lately!
Ethan is a jabber mouth, he just talks and talks and talks. It's still difficult to understand him at times, but he's getting better every day. He loves having a house to roam and he's enjoyed the yard and digging in the dirt on our warmer days. He enjoys playing at Neils house almost every week and he also loves his primary class. He comes home from church with a big smile on his face each Sunday. We are still in diapers while mom's been sick, but we hope to get potty trained soon! He sure understands the whole potty concept, just gotta get the energy to do it! Ethan still loves watching movies and playing with trains, he also loves pirates and says "arrrgh matey!". He enjoys books being read to him, and lately the thing I hear most from him is "mommy, I hungry", just about all day long. He's still as picky as ever when it comes to food, but we have made giant leaps of progress, he actually will eat grilled cheese sandwiches now! Still no meat or other usual kid foods like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but I'm hopeful that he'll be willing to try them all eventually. We just take it one small step at a time.
That's all I can think of for now. We are just so grateful to be in a home, have a stable job, and especially grateful for our health insurance at the moment with our recent ailments. We are also grateful for family and grammy's & Papa's for their willingness to help us when we've needed it most.
We wish all our Family & Friends a Happy Easter! May we all remember Christ this Easter and his endless love for all of us.
