Well it's just E and I this weekend while Daddy's off hunting. Last night I came home from grocery shopping around dinner time and I just decided that the boxes of cereal I'd just bought on sale looked pretty good for dinner. So E and I had lucky charms and fruit loops for dinner last night. It was delicious! Ethan thought so too as he had colorful smears all around his mouth from the lucky charm marshmallows. Ethan is so great at keeping me company all day long. He talks in his own Ethanese that I have to constantly decipher and gets into everything (including the bottom drawer of the stove. He really is so fun at this age, even if he constantly throws temper tantrums when I take away things he knows he shouldn't have (like mommy's phone). He's getting very good at throwing himself on the floor in a dramatic way burying his head in the couch or carpet and just giving this sad cry. I'm in so much trouble! (I've been told by my mother that he's acting just like I did as a child... GREAT!) I'm having to rethink parenting strategies and now I guess he's old enough to learn about time out and fun things like that. I really do have such a hard time being "tough" with him, I just love him so much and would love to just give him anything he wants (like cookies all day long), but I know better than to do that, but it's hard to restrain myself and remind myself that he needs to learn that he can't have everything in life. Jordon is much better at the "tough love" than I am, and Ethan learns much from his daddy.

Last weekend my sister in-law and I were at our local consignment shop in town and they were having a sidewalk sale where you could fill a grocery bag of childrens clothing and pay $1 for the whole bag. The picture of him with his striped shirt are all clothes I got for that $1 a bag. So it was pretty fun to just look through and stuff the bag full knowing I was getting a great deal on clothes for Ethan. I even found another great winter coat that ended up costing me all of 10 cents. I LOVE THAT! Ethan now has 2 winter coats that fit him right now (one being a great little body suit that comes with mittens that snap to the sleeves that I got for a few dollars) and a winter coat that his grandma and great grandma bought him over the summer that is big, but will fit him in the very near future (when he's 1 1/2 or 2). I was also going through the chest I have in his room and found a fleece hat and mittens I'd bought at old navy last summer for about $3 on clearance. so we are set to go for winter, which is probably a good thing considering we didn't have much of a fall this year. Yes, it snowed here in the beginning of October. I remember waking up that morning and going "no way! nooooooo!" I love snow, but when it starts this early, all I can do is dread how long and cold this winter is going to be. I only like snow for about the first month and then I'm done and ready for it to melt and be able to take walks outside without falling on the ice and feeling my nose hairs freeze while icicles form on my eyelashes. Welcome to Idaho!

When did Ethan get so tall?! He's sooo cute! He looks like a little boy, and not a baby anymore!
