quick update

Just a quick post before going to bed. Alot has been going on here in the Marquis family. Ethan and I spent 2 weeks traveling this month between Washington and Utah. Poor Jordon had to stay behind and keep working. He was very happy to have us home again. We were super busy in washington and had a blast with grammy and papa Marquis. Ethan especially enjoyed his time with Papa in the "back 40" helping get eggs out of the chicken coup, playing in the dirt and mud, and seeing their 3 new dogs.

In Utah we enjoyed some down time after a busy week in Washington. Ethan got a brand new Radio Flyer wagon for an early birthday gift and he LOVES it! We took it to the zoo the day after we bought it. Ethan just happily sat in the wagon, when we'd stop to look at an animal exhibit, he'd get out of the wagon and look at the animals. As soon as I'd start to pull the wagon again, he'd quickly run and get back in to head onto the next animal. So cute! He's taken little rides with Grammy Felt around her neighborhood and then when we got home, I took him on a ride to the Library. It's been a great gift.

We recieved some very sad news this week that Jordon's cousin drowned swimming in a resevoir on wednesday in Utah. It took crews about an hour and a half to locate his body with an under water camera.  He was 17 and an amazing young man who was well loved by all who knew him. Tomorrow we'll be on our way back to Utah to be with family and attend the funeral this weekend. I can't bear to think about how it would feel to lose my little boy no matter how old he gets... I think parents should never have to bury their children, or grandparents bury their grandchildren. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of God's plan for all of us. It doesn't dull the pain of a loss, but it sure seems ti makes it a little bit easier to handle when times are tough. It will be an emotional time, but I'm glad we live close enough and have the means right now to make the trip down.

I will try to post photos sometime next week from our adventures.
