Encounter with Peas!

We went to dinner at my brother's house last night for a great feast of corned beef and cabbage (Thanks Karen!) and we ended up leaving with quite a laugh and adventure to tell. My little nephew Ben figured out that he can put peas up his nose (which apparently is a first in their family of 4 children).
I was sitting closest to him at dinner and fished 2 peas out of his nose. Then I noticed he was putting his finger up there like something was still there. So I looked and sure enough there was another pea stuck way in the back. So out came the tweezers and I tried to extract it, only my hands were super shaky yesterday because I had taken excedrin for a headache (caffeine does that to me) and so I handed over the tweezers to my brother and said "here you do it". While mom & I held him down (and he was really doing quite well, didn't even cry!), dad tried to extract the pea... but it only went back farther. My brother decided to do a trick of plugging his other nostril and blowing into his mouth (like mouth to mouth) and because of the positive pressure, all of a sudden... pop! the pea came out his nose just like that! It was so funny and we were all glad that Ben wasn't going to be growing pea trees in his nose... hehe, or so I joked when I was trying to tell him that peas don't go in the nose because you might have a pea tree grow out your nose! It was an adventure for sure! Never a dull moment at any Felt family dinner. I have a feeling that Ben's mommy won't be giving him peas or anything that size for a while. If you want to read his mom's version go to her blog http://feltfrequencies.blogspot.com/. Thanks Ben for giving us a few laughs last night!
